White missed somewhat more than a year of football play due to a grade-3 ACL injury he sustained towards the close of the 2021 season. Before rupturing his Achilles tendon, also a grade-3 injury, he participated in the last five games of 2022 and the first four games of 2023.

Following the OTA practice on Tuesday, Sean McVay provided an update to the media about his recuperation; “He’s progressing well. He might participate in the walkthrough. ”

He’s clearly overcome a significant injury, and he’s accomplished a lot of good things on the side,” McVay said. It’s evident that he is fully focused and involved in the meeting environment. We’ll see where he is at in terms of his real training camp procedure.

He does an amazing job of understanding his body, therefore I don’t think we should limit ourselves to using just one strategy. Everything revolves on “how’s he feeling,” “what does it look like,” and when [Dr.] Neil ElAttrache, MD, checks up on him, what’s going to be best for him—hopefully ready to play in the opening as well as throughout the whole of the season.

There are guys on the Rams who have experienced Achilles injuries. Prior to the 2021 season, both White and Cam Akers had a tear. He was out of the season for all but the last game, and he only made a comeback after five months of recuperation. After the injury, he never recovered to his rookie season level and tore it again in 2023.

White was selected to the Pro Bowl and the second team All-Pro in 2020, his final complete season.
