Though Khalil Shakir, a wide receiver, is slated to be the Buffalo Bills’ best returning pass-catcher, his first day of mandatory minicamp ended on a frightening note.
The third-year receiver was wounded during the June 11 practice and taken off the field with an undisclosed ailment, according to reporter Sal Capaccio of WGR 550.
“Today’s Bills minicamp is done. WR Khalil Shakir seemed to have a lower body issue, and he left practice early, according to Capaccio’s post on X. After a time of conversation with the trainers, he hobbled off the field, into the fieldhouse, and vanished from sight.
Even while the seriousness of the injury was not immediately apparent, it may give the Bills offense, which will be drastically different in 2024, pause for thought.
