Though it’s June, no team wants to watch as the NFL’s defensive player of the year walks off the field due to what seems to be a leg injury.
And Myles Garrett could be more important to the Cleveland Browns than everyone else on the team if they want to make it back to the postseason following the 2024 campaign.
Leading what eventually became the NFL’s top defensive unit, Garrett was the unquestionable team leader on the defensive end.
But during practice, the Browns suffered an abrupt and unanticipated setback that clouded their plans.
Fred Greetham reports that on Thursday, the standout defender interacted with athletic trainers as he left the practice field while cradling his leg.

Garrett did go out to be examined by the team’s medical personnel, but there is still no information on his condition.
With him at the helm, how dominating was the Cleveland defense?
In a time of wide-open offenses, the defense led the NFL in both pass defense and yards allowed per game.
This was the case even though Deshaun Watson didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard when he was healthy and the Browns had to start five different quarterbacks in 2024 due to injuries.
However, the defense carried the day and the squad made it to the postseason, where the Houston Texans, without Watson, were soundly defeated 45–14 in the AFC Wild Card round.
The defense may lead the team into the postseason once more if Watson could find the form he had before being involved in controversy in Texas.
