Best USA Basketball’s Caitlin Clark explains why the team decided not to send a member to the Olympics in Paris.

Caitlin Clark, the rookie phenom from the Indiana Fever, has not been included on USA Basketball’s roster for the women’s Olympic squad for the upcoming games in Paris, according to a top USA Basketball official this week.

Jen Rizzotti, chair of the selection committee, subsequently told the Associated Press that the choice was made in accordance with established selection procedure.

“These are the basketball standards that the committee was given. And in light of it, how do we assess our players? stated Ms. Rizzotti.

Because they ticked so many more boxes, there were other players who were more difficult to cut. Then, occasionally, it comes down to position and [coach] Cheryl [Reeve’s playing style, and occasionally, a vote.

Since 1996, the United States women’s national team has won gold in seven consecutive Olympic Games, and there is no shortage of quality heading to the following games.
