Kelsey Mitchell Opens Up About Coping With Father’s Day After Loss of Her Dad
On Father’s Day, Kelsey Mitchell shared an emotional message with her fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there,” she said. ”
I was blessed to have an amazing father for 28 years, who recently passed away. To all the fathers, keep doing your thing, we wouldn’t be here without you.”
Kelsey’s father, Mark, passed away suddenly in March at the age of 56. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Mitchell, and their children: Kelsey, Cameron, Kevin, and Chelsea.
Mark’s death came just a month before Kelsey was scheduled to attend the 3×3 Olympic Training Camp in April, followed by the WNBA training camp with the Fever.
During these challenging months, family has been Kelsey’s top priority. She frequently returns to her hometown of Cincinnati to visit her mother, ensuring she spends every off-day with her family.
