After Jack Campbell signs in Detroit, Oilers ink veteran stopper to add organizational depth.
That box can be checked with the Canada Day signing of veteran Collin Delia. The 30-year-old American has seven years of pro experience, primarily in the AHL but with 52 games in the NHL with Chicago and Vancouver.
Perhaps of most interest is the relocation of Jack Campbell, bought out by Edmonton earlier today.
He wound up in Detroit on a one-year “show me” pact at NHL minimum of $775,000. He will join another former Oiler in Cam Talbot, who also joined the Red Wings from Los Angeles for 2 years at an AAV of $2.5 million.
A pair of former Oilers backups hit pay dirt. Laurent Brossoit moved on from Winnipeg and signed for two years at an AAV of $3.3 million in Chicago, while Anthony Stolarz left the Florida Panthers to ink a two-year deal in Toronto at $2.5 million per.
Lots of movement on the goaltending front on Monday, with no fewer than FOUR former Edmonton Oilers stoppers moving to new addresses.
