Miami Heat Trade News: Just In Heat HC Erik Jon Spoelstra Confirm The Leave Of Another Top Experienced Star From Israel Basketball Club

Chris Silva, a former forward for the Miami Heat, has secured a contract with Bnei Herzliya, a team in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, according to HoopsHype.

Silva’s move follows a notable performance with the College Park Skyhawks, the Atlanta Hawks’ G League affiliate, during the 2023-24 season. After his stint in the G League, he also played in Puerto Rico.

During the G League regular season, Silva made a significant impact in 25 games, averaging 17.0 points on 52.5 percent shooting, along with 8.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.1 blocks per game.

His performance remained strong in the G League Showcase Cup, where he was the second-highest scorer on his team, averaging 17.2 points per game, and led in free throws made per contest with 3.5.

Silva first joined the NBA with the Miami Heat in the 2019-20 season, appearing in 44 games and contributing an average of 3.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game.

Despite the Heat reaching the NBA Finals that year, Silva struggled to find consistent playing time in the subsequent seasons.

He was traded during his second season and spent time with several NBA teams, including the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Dallas Mavericks. His last NBA appearance was with the Mavericks in the 2022-23 season.

Now at 27, Silva is looking to translate his G League success to the Israeli Basketball Premier League with Bnei Herzliya in the upcoming 2024-25 season. Given his scoring ability demonstrated with the Skyhawks, it is anticipated that Silva will secure significant playing time and continue to be a valuable player in Israel.
