José Alvarado’s sudden departure due to personal reasons has left the Phillies’ bullpen in a precarious position as they approach the end of the season
. His exit comes on the heels of the trade of another left-handed reliever, Gregory Soto, raising significant concerns about the team’s ability to manage left-handed hitters in critical late-game situations.
Alvarado, who was the team’s primary pitcher against lefties, is not expected to return soon, putting additional pressure on manager Rob Thomson to find viable replacements.
With just 30 games remaining before the postseason begins in October, the Phillies are actively working on strategies to address this critical gap in their bullpen.
