At approximately 3:38 p.m. PT, the San Francisco Fire Department received a 911 call reporting gunfire at the intersection of Geary and Grant streets.

According to reports, a 17-year-old male tried to rob Pearsall of his Rolex watch at gunpoint. This led to a struggle between the two, which resulted in shots being fired. Both Pearsall and the suspect were injured in the confrontation. The suspect, who has been arrested, and Pearsall both sustained gunshot wounds.

While the exact condition of the suspect remains undisclosed, Pearsall is reported to be in serious but stable condition. Authorities do not believe that Pearsall was targeted specifically due to his status as a professional athlete. It is suspected that the robbery was an isolated act carried out by the suspect alone.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted to understand the full details of the incident. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has indicated that a decision on charges against the suspect will be made after the Labor Day weekend.
