In Michigan’s narrow 19-17 win over Illinois on Saturday, running back Blake Corum suffered a left knee injury late in the first half. Despite concerns, Coach Jim Harbaugh reassured that the Heisman Trophy contender did not sustain any structural damage to his knee.

Corum, who was a key player for the Wolverines, attempted to return for the second half but spent most of the time on the sidelines as Michigan secured their victory with a crucial late field goal.

The team now faces a significant challenge with their upcoming rivalry game against No. 2 Ohio State.

The injury occurred when Corum took a low hit and lost control of the ball with Michigan leading 7-3. He immediately clutched his left knee and stayed on the field for several minutes while the medical staff attended to him.

Following this, Corum was able to walk off the field and head towards the locker room, where he underwent X-rays to assess the extent of the injury.
