The Indiana Fever have announced the signing of forward Damiris Dantas to a multi-year deal, with specific terms not disclosed in accordance with team policy.

Dantas, who was the 12th pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft, last played for the Minnesota Lynx in 2022. During that season, she averaged 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists over 15 games, playing about 17.4 minutes per game.

General Manager Lin Dunn praised Dantas for her veteran presence and valuable experience, both in the WNBA and internationally, including her participation in the Olympics.

Dunn believes that Dantas will be a significant asset on both ends of the court and contribute positively to the team’s dynamic and locker room environment.

Throughout her eight-season WNBA career, Dantas has averaged 7.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, with 202 appearances and 128 starts. Additionally, she has represented Brazil in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.

The Indiana Fever’s 2024 regular season will start on the road against the Connecticut Sun on May 14 at 8 p.m. ET, and their home opener at Gainbridge Fieldhouse is scheduled for May 16 against the New York Liberty at 7 p.m. ET.
