Mike Kolen, a prominent linebacker for the Miami Dolphins during their Super Bowl victories in the early 1970s, passed away on Sunday at the age of 76. In 2016, Kolen expressed his enjoyment in reconnecting with Auburn and honoring the players who followed in his footsteps. Despite his battle with Alzheimer’s, which he linked to his football career, Kolen maintained a positive perspective.

He published a book about the 1972 Dolphins and spoke about his football experiences with gratitude. Kolen emphasized his appreciation for the sport and the opportunities it provided him, expressing no regrets about his career.
