Basketball Australia has announced that Indiana Fever guard Kristy Wallace will represent Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Wallace is among a select group of Fever players to achieve this honor, joining the ranks of Natalie Achonwa, Tully Bevilaqua, Tamika Catchings, and Kara Wolters.
Before joining the WNBA, Wallace played from 2018 to 2022 with the Canberra Capitals and Southside Flyers in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) and the Melbourne Tigers in the Melbourne Basketball Association (MBA). She has significant international experience, most recently contributing to the Australian national team, the Opals, during the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, where they secured a bronze medal.
Wallace made her WNBA debut in 2022 after being drafted by the Atlanta Dream as the 16th overall pick in the 2018 draft. She was traded to the Indiana Fever before the 2023 season. In 2024, Wallace has played in 15 games, averaging 5.2 points, 2.1 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game.
Originally from Loganholme, Queensland, Wallace played college basketball at Baylor University from 2014 to 2018. She concluded her college career with impressive statistics, ranking third in all-time assists with 525, fourth in three-point attempts with 413, and fifth in three-point field goals made with 158.
