The Edmonton Oilers have made a trade with the San Jose Sharks, acquiring defenseman Ty Emberson in exchange for Cody Ceci and a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Emberson, 24, played his first season with the Sharks last year, participating in 30 games where he recorded one goal and nine assists, averaging 18:33 in ice time per game.
Originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round (73rd overall) in 2018, Emberson is a right-shot defenseman who previously played for the University of Wisconsin.
Over three seasons in the AHL with Tucson and Hartford, he has competed in 132 games, scoring 12 goals and providing 27 assists for a total of 39 points.
