Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston was over the moon Thursday after the team’s win against the Pittsburgh Steelers during heavy snowfall.
Winston’s excitement was understandable considering how unfamiliar he was with the playing conditions. An Alabama native, Winston went to college at Florida State University before getting drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015.
In 2020, he signed with the New Orleans Saints. Throughout his entire football career, warm weather in the South was basically all he knew.
That has changed in 2024 since signing with the Browns. In a division that includes the Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Cincinnati Bengals, Winston is now experiencing football in much more frigid conditions.
Heading into the game, he was clearly excited about it.
I am so happy and grateful that the Lord has blessed me to play in some snow,” Winston said before kickoff, “to be in true football weather, in Cleveland, Ohio, at Huntington Bank Field today, to get him the glory. It’s a beautiful day.”
