During the Tigers’ exciting victory over Texas A&M in October, wide receiver Sam Turner, who had already committed to Georgia Tech, said his official visit was a wonderful experience.

Turner, who is now adamant about attending Auburn, talked about how the tour increased his enthusiasm for the school. Turner remarked, “I have never seen anything like that,” in reference to the thrilling atmosphere at Jordan-Hare Stadium. He was shaken by Auburn’s thrilling victory, which came after four overtimes. Turner watched the game from the stands and hurried onto the field shortly after the game-winning play.

Although Georgia Tech continues to pursue him, Turner expressed confidence in his decision to join the Tigers. “It was good because a lot of the commitments were there, and we kind of bonded outside of football,” he said. “It made me feel even more great about my decision.”

During his visit, Turner spent time with several Auburn commitments and recruits, including Deuce Knight, Derick Smith, Erick Smith, Anquon Fegans, and Justus Terry. The group enjoyed the high-energy environment, sharing in the excitement of Auburn’s fans and team performance.

The atmosphere at Jordan-Hare Stadium stood out to Turner, from the pregame buzz to the postgame celebrations that continued long after the final whistle. The camaraderie among the recruits and their shared experiences off the field added to the special nature of the visit.

For Turner, the weekend reaffirmed his belief in Auburn’s program and his future as part of the team. While other schools, including Georgia Tech, may continue their efforts to flip him back, his connection with Auburn and the relationships he’s building with fellow commitments have strengthened his resolve to join the Tigers.
