Commanders defense star curses out frustration at successive defeats
Jonathan Allen, a defensive tackle with the Washington Commanders, has been a member of the group since the 2017 campaign. He has witnessed a lot of losing during that period, and on Sunday, after his team’s 14-7 loss to the New York Giants, he finally snapped.
Allen continued by describing how the Giants physically dominated the game and how Allen’s teammates’ lack of concentration caused issues.
When asked if that circumstance frustrates him, he held back from using his harshest remarks.
He did not hold back at all when asked by JP Finlay of NBC Washington.
“Yes, it does, [expletive]. This [crap] is getting on my nerves. This bull[expletive] is getting on my nerves. The same thing has been going on for seven years. This is becoming old [expletive].
It’s reasonable to be frustrated with him. Allen has been a defensive stalwart for Washington for seven years, but he has never even come close of winning a Super Bowl. The squad has only made one postseason appearance throughout his tenure with the organization, winning the NFC East in 2020, and has never had a winning season. They ultimately fell to the eventual Super Bowl winner Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23 in their ensuing playoff game.
Allen was selected by Washington in the first round, at number 17, in 2017. He has appeared in the last two Pro Bowls.
He hopes to join a winning club in the future, but that hasn’t happened in Washington yet. The way the Commanders are now playing
