Aaron Hickey becomes the second injured player for Scotland, while Max Johnston receives his first call-up.
After joining Sturm Graz, the former Motherwell defender might make his professional debut.
Aaron Hickey has left the Scotland team ahead of tomorrow night’s friendly against France in Lille, joining Andy Robertson in doing so.
The Brentford defender had a standout performance against Spain on Thursday. He initially lined up at right back before switching to left back when Robertson was hurt. It has also been reported that the Liverpool defender will not be participating in the game due to a shoulder injury, but it is yet unknown exactly what Hickey’s pregame problem is.
Max Johnston, a former Motherwell defender, has now been added to Scotland’s senior squad in preparation for their match against France.
Even for friendlies, Steve Clarke rarely makes any changes to his lineup, but now that qualification is assured, this may present a chance to insert players like Lewis Ferguson into the lineup or perhaps give debuts to either Zander Clark or Liam Kelly as back-up goalies to Angus Gunn, who has been the No. 1 since he joined the team.
