Main Reason: Eliezer Mayenda questions Tony Mowbray Double substitution Ahead Of Plymouth

With his team trailing Plymouth by two goals at the interval, Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray thought he needed to make some adjustments for the second half of the game.

Eliezer Mayenda and Adil Aouchiche came in for Nazariy Rusyn and Pierre Ekwah in a double substitution.

Even yet, despite having numerous chances following the half, the hosts were unable to penetrate Argyle’s defensive pressure.

Following a deft pass from Aouchiche, the Spaniard was able to make some probing runs both in and out of possession. Mayenda then skewed a shot into the side netting.

Mowbray will now have to decide if Rusyn preserves his spot or whether Mayenda is the best choice to lead the line for Wednesday’s home game against Huddersfield, despite the striker’s advanced age.

After missing the Plymouth game due to an injury, Mason Burstow is also anticipated to be ready once more.

The Black Cats manager is still trying to find the ideal attacking combination as the players develop and the season goes on.
