Unai Emery provides injury update on Aston Villa star after Arsenal win

Aston Villa’s fantastic start to the season was enhanced by their 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Villa Park.

The Villans have performed admirably under Unai Emery’s direction, moving up to third place in the Premier League.

Villa has strengthened their title chances with their two historic victories over Manchester City and Arsenal in the last week.

As a result, a few notable players have played admirably to support the Villans’ ranking in the top four this season. A man further up the pitch has undoubtedly drawn attention, even with Emi Martinez and the defense being the standouts.

What has Unai Emery said about Leon Bailey?

Leon Bailey had a lackluster first few seasons at Villa Park until he eventually settled there. He has made it his own, replacing recent additions Moussa Diaby and Nicolo Zaniolo.

He has been a continuous threat and has a goal and an assist in the last two games against the best players in the Premier League.

Bailey has five goals and four assists in his five Premier League starts this season, averaging a goal per 65 minutes. Given this, Villa supporters may have been worried when he was substituted off against the Gunners at halftime.

In an interview with John Townley, Emery talked candidly about the Jamaican wide receiver. “He was tired, completely tired!” he exclaimed. Though I’m not sure, hopefully he’s not hurt.

The fans will be thrilled because, considering Bailey’s stellar recent performance, they won’t want him to miss out for many weeks.

His defensive productivity has been another arrow in his quiver, despite his impressive offensive stats. He played one defensive play and made four recoveries against City in his 85 minutes on the pitch.

He played 45 minutes against Arsenal, but in that time he made two tackles and three defensive plays. For now, Bailey is just as vital as everyone else, so Villa supporters should be relieved that his injury isn’t too serious.

Though everyone in claret and blue has had a fantastic season thus far, he has been especially outstanding in recent weeks. This season, Bailey serves as a tangible example of Emery’s excellent job at Villa Park.
