Journalist Comments have Passed Angered As West Ham Owners Claims Board Source

Following the loss to Fulham, a board source believes that David Moyes’ remarks infuriated the West Ham owners.

Despite possible extenuating circumstances, David Moyes called West Ham’s 5-0 loss to Fulham “embarrassing.”
The Scot says there’s been a sickness wave going through the Hammers camp.

He also attributed performance to weariness. However, as Hammers News pointed out, the harsh reality is that the fatigue element was self-inflicted.

That was closed on West Ham’s fingers after the unexpected defeat, though.

Fans were even more irate because Tottenham’s victory over Newcastle meant that the Hammers would have continued to be in the top six until at least the following weekend.

When Moyes told reporters that he didn’t think West Ham had the team to finish in the top six this season, a lot of West Ham supporters were upset ahead of the Fulham match.

The fact that West Ham was unable to finish in the top six ultimately supported the manager’s assertion.

However, it appears that the Scot’s statement irritated more people than just his followers.

According to a board insider, Moyes’ remarks have infuriated the West Ham owners.
Realistic or unambitious
Speaking to Claret and Hugh, a highly placed insider within West Ham revealed that the board was dissatisfied with Moyes’ modest claim of finishing in the top six.

Claret and Hugh claim that “some have been alarmed after the manager admitted he isn’t sure the club can make an impression on the top six,” due to the amount of money spent on new players.

“And with the powers that be still closely examining the situation, (the) defeat has revived the old fears about his future.”

Some have claimed that Moyes’ remarks lack ambition. Some could characterize the management as realistic in order to justify them.

However, rather than always downplaying things, there are moments when players would prefer to hear the manager tell them what they can do.

Players who are consistently told they are not good enough will eventually come to believe it.

After the Spurs victory, James Ward-Prowse openly criticized Moyes for his lack of faith in his team.
