Report: key issue unfixed as Pioli’s excuses dry up

At San Siro, AC Milan defeated Monza 3-0 with ease, although the injury issue remained a source of controversy following the match.

A story titled “Pioli’s apologies, Milan’s mistakes: a season thrown away due to injuries” was published on Calciomercato.com. Even though Milan won and kept a clean sheet while scoring three goals, there is still resentment.

The Rossoneri ought to have been able to compete for the Scudetto and the round of 16 of the Champions League, but both have slipped away. The goals could have been more ambitious if the squad had been fully functional.

Tommaso Pobega was substituted off the field after 20 minutes, while Noah Okafor played for 10 minutes after coming off the bench yesterday. It was stated that the team would investigate the injury issue during the previous international break, but it doesn’t seem like anything was accomplished.

While it is evident that interfering and making changes in the present season is exceedingly difficult, this is not a brand-new issue that has just surfaced. Since Pioli has been there and both the prior and current management have disregarded how serious this problem is, it is an atavistic problem.

Perhaps we’re talking about a different season now, with new approaches, more research, and increased will on everyone’s part to find a solution.

Although Pioli is correct when he says that the players play too much, other elite teams play just as many games and don’t appear to have as many injury issues as the Rossoneri do.
