In the past half-year, there have been ongoing rumors connecting a Nottingham Forest winger to a potential transfer to the Premier League.
Reportedly, Nottingham Forest is poised to extend an offer for Argentinian winger Benjamin Rollheiser as they initiate their January transfer dealings with newly appointed manager Nuno Espirito Santo. With Santo assuming control of the team this week, he has a brief window to evaluate the existing squad before determining the January transfer activity, set to commence in just over 10 days. The club is expected to part ways with certain players to streamline the squad and create space for potential new additions.
One of the potential departures could involve Rollheiser, as reports from Portugal suggest that Nottingham Forest is competing with Benfica for the signature of Estudiantes’ player. According to information from Record, via SportWitness, Forest is actively “preparing an offer” for the 23-year-old in a bid to outmaneuver their competitors.
While the specific offer amount remains undisclosed, it is reported that the player’s current club is seeking a fee of approximately €9 million (£7.8 million) for Benjamin Rollheiser in the upcoming January transfer window. During the most recent season, Rollheiser demonstrated his prowess by scoring six goals and contributing three assists in 27 league appearances.
Nevertheless, Nottingham Forest and Benfica are not the sole clubs expressing interest in Rollheiser. OJogo indicated earlier this week that Newcastle United has entered the race to secure the services of the Argentina under-21 international, although Benfica appears to be in the lead. Newcastle was previously associated with a potential move during the summer transfer window, with reports suggesting that Zenit St Petersburg was initially considered the frontrunner for his signature at that time. However, a transfer to Russia did not materialize.
