Danjuma came under fire on Merseyside after turning down an offer from Everton to join Tottenham Hotspur at the last minute in January, but the forward was able to secure a loan move to the club this summer.

The 26-year-old battled for playing time at Tottenham but has been given a far larger role at Goodison Park, making three starts in their first six games.

Despite Everton’s terrible start to the season, Danjuma was one of the few bright spots, scoring twice.

Despite a strong start to the season, Danjuma has stated that he is still not totally fit after arriving in the Premier League halfway through pre-season.

“We’re getting closer and closer to where we want to be,” Danjuma explained to evertontv. “We’re still early in the season, and there’s still a lot of room for improvement.” There are certain players who will return from injury.

“With myself, I missed the majority of pre-season, so I have to make sure I’m getting stronger every day to help the team as much as possible.”

“We must learn from the past and ensure that we build on it.” That’s what I believe we’re doing. We should have begun the season better, but we need to keep progressing, and those two victories will have given us confidence.”

For a squad that has been accustomed to having few offensive options, it is a welcome change for Sean Dyche to be faced with the decision of who to select to feature out wide for Everton.

As long as every player maintains their form, the Toffees should profit greatly from having Danjuma and others to pick from.
