Despite Leeds United’s admission, Southampton player praises the ‘excellent’ platform offered by the Whites.
Despite his appreciation for Daniel Farke’s Whites, a rival defender has described a Leeds United challenge as the “perfect” tonic for his team.
Southampton came into Saturday’s Championship match against Leeds having lost their previous four games in a row, but they came back to overcome the Whites 3-1 after trailing 3-0 inside 35 minutes.
Saints defender Ryan Manning stated to SFC Media how different aspects of the game were great for his squad, including admitting that Daniel Farke’s club were a “good side.”
“It was always going to be a tough test, but I think it’s almost the perfect fixture for us,” Manning said.
“We had a good team come to us, an early kick-off on Sky, and a perfect platform for us to go on and put in a performance, which we did.”
