Good News: South Carolina plans to employ  a Texas special assistant, as special teams coordinator.

The legendary NFL special teams coach lasted less than a year at Forty Acres.

Joe DeCamillis, the Texas Longhorns’ special assistant to the head coach, is apparently on his way to Columbia, where the South Carolina Gamecocks anticipate him to replace special teams coordinator Pete Lembo, who has been named head coach of the Buffalo Bulls.

Shane Beamer, South Carolina’s head coach, was not ready to confirm the appointment on Saturday.

“Yeah, I’d say we’re close to being able to announce something, not quite finalized yet — been busy with that and and busy with recruiting,” Beamer added.

DeCamillis joined Sarkisian’s team in May as one of three new special assistants to the coach. DeCamillis, a two-time Super Bowl champion with 30 years of experience, was an All-American wrestler at Wyoming before entering professional football as an administrative assistant for his father-in-law Dan Reeves.Meet Denver Broncos interim coach Joe DeCamillis - ESPN - Denver Broncos Blog- ESPN
