Tessam applauded Southampton manager Russell Martin’s attacking set-up against Leeds, noting that the Saints pushed the ball fast forward throughout the game.
He thinks Martin’s team should play more forward football because it will help Southampton manage games better.
“I’ll give him a big tick for offensive player selection, but the biggest tick for me is forward play,” Tessem remarked on BBC Radio Solent.
“We pushed the ball and moved quickly forward, and we played football.”
“I believe we should do more of that, even in the second half.”
