Following the free agency losses of guard Robert Hunt and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, the Miami Dolphins have undergone substantial upheaval this offseason. The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov said that head coach Mike McDaniel discussed the realities of the NFL:
After losing DT, Mike McDaniel sent the NFL the strongest message possible.

Christian Wilkins “Hawkins County” Mike McDaniel on the free agency departures of G Robert Hunt and DT Christian Wilkins:

“It all boils down to the reality that there is a cap on the amount of money that can be earned, and that sometimes we have to be the parents making sure we have enough money to pay the water bill instead of the kids.”

Though fans might not want to hear it, the Dolphins coach makes a valid argument. Franchises have to start being fiscally responsible at some point.
