Dennis Allen, the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, is under fire. As he starts the 2024 season, it may even be on fire.
In every way, 2023 proved to be a letdown for the Saints. There were frequent close loses, critical errors, and humiliating gaffes. That is not possible if you think you can compete for the NFC championship.
Allen now has to demonstrate to the front desk that he is the right person for the position. He has the support of two players who are favored by the fans.
Tyrann Mathieu and Demario Davis really appreciate Dennis Allen.
In RG3 and The Ones, Robert Griffin III’s podcast, Mathieu vigorously supported Allen. As the head coach of the Saints, he still has faith in him.
Nothing is hidden. According to Mathieu, Allen is one of the league’s best defensive thinkers. That’s also not an absurd thing to think about.
Since becoming a DC on Sean Payton’s staff, he has seen great success defensively.
With a tweet of his own, Mathieu reaffirmed his position. Davis then gave him support on social media.
Even with Allen’s age, two of the team’s best veterans believe he can guide them to victory.
Given Allen’s track record as a head coach, that’s difficult to predict, but the players also realize they need to improve if they want to see more success in the postseason. Not all of it is on the coach.
