BREAKING NEWS: Southampton coach Russell Martin “I would not take any further challenge than this”

After sustaining a new injury, a Southampton player was released from the international team.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is on loan from Southampton, ‘is out of the England U21 squad’ due to a new hamstring injury, according to talkSPORT.
In the summer transfer window, Southampton acquired Harwood-Bellis on loan from Manchester City.

Since then, the 21-year-old has made six Championship appearances for Russell Martin’s team, all of which have come in the Saints’ last six games that he has started and finished.

But according to talkSPORT, Harwood-Bellis has a new hamstring injury and will not go with the England U21 team to Serbia and Ukraine this week.

No substitute will be called up to Lee Carsley’s side, the same report continues.

Following a stretch of three straight losses for the club, Southampton has gone three games without losing and is presently ranked 10th in the Championship table.

Southampton suffers a setback

For Southampton, Harwood-Bellis was only beginning to flourish.

After a previous injury, he was displaying poise and progressing toward full fitness, but this fresh injury may prove to be a major setback for the Manchester City player who is currently on loan.

It’s also a setback for Southampton. Fans are criticizing them for their present standing in the league, and losing important players like Harwood-Bellis won’t help Martin’s efforts to win over the crowd.

The degree of his injury is still unknown. But anticipate that Martin and Southampton will be wary of it, especially given that Harwood-Bellis has a history of frequent injuries in recent years.

Later this month, the Saints return to action on the road at Hull City. The Saints have another difficult road game, but the two-week break will have given Martin more crucial time to work with the players and communicate his methods.
