Dello, 27, spent the 2023-24 season with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he recorded three goals and 10 assists, totaling 13 points, and accumulated 28 penalty minutes in 65 games.

Throughout his professional career, Dello has played exclusively in the AHL, moving between various teams.

During his time at Notre Dame, Dello helped secure back-to-back NCAA B1G Championships and notched 40 points in 154 games.

Hailing from Lakewood, Illinois, Dello had his most productive offensive season in 2021-22 with the Laval Rocket, where he scored five goals and provided 13 assists for 18 points in 55 games.

He also contributed one assist in 15 Calder Cup playoff games.

Dello’s international experience includes representing Team USA at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup during the 2014-15 season, where he earned a bronze medal alongside notable teammates such as Tommy Novak, Brock Boeser, Troy Terry, and Joe Cecconi.

Over his AHL career spanning six seasons with the Griffins, Rocket, and Wolves, Dello has played in 188 games, amassing 12 goals and 36 assists for 48 points, along with 112 penalty minutes.

Before his college career, Dello played for the Tri-City Storm in the USHL for three years.

He captained the team to a Clark Cup championship in the 2015-16 season, recording 12 points in 50 regular-season games and adding two goals and five points in 11 playoff games.

Dello was also honored as the USHL Gentleman of the Year during that season.

Dello’s addition to the Red Wings roster brings a blend of experience and leadership, and the team hopes his versatile defensive skills will be a valuable asset in the upcoming season.
