In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers News, the Auburn football program celebrates a significant boost to their recruiting class of 2025 as a former commit returns to the fold, and a promising running back prospect includes the Tigers in his top eight schools.

This Fourth of July, the Auburn football team experienced a different kind of celebration when Hollis Davidson, a 3-star tight end, announced his commitment to the Tigers once again.

Davidson, a native of Peachtree City, Georgia, had initially committed to Auburn in February but decided to reopen his recruitment in early May.

Despite a strong push from Florida State towards the end of his recruitment process, Davidson ultimately chose to rejoin head coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers.

In an interview with Auburn Undercover, Davidson expressed his excitement about his decision.

“I’m excited to be back,” Davidson said. “First, I just want to thank Auburn and everybody—the whole Auburn family—for being consistent throughout my decommitment, understanding where I was coming from, and trusting my process. That’s a big thing that led me back to Auburn.”

Davidson explained that his decision was influenced by the consistent support he received from Auburn during his period of uncertainty.

After visiting various schools and having lengthy discussions with his family, Davidson felt that Auburn was the best fit for him.

“After taking my visits, seeing everything, me and my family sat down and had long, hour talks each day, and we really feel like Auburn is home for me. It’s the best fit. It’s where I can grow as a man, grow as a player, everything.”

In addition to Davidson’s re-commitment, the Auburn football program received more good news as they landed in the top eight schools for a highly sought-after running back prospect for the class of 2025.

The inclusion in the top eight is a promising sign for Auburn as they continue to build a strong recruiting class under the leadership of head coach Hugh Freeze.

Davidson’s return and the potential addition of a top running back prospect underscore the strength and appeal of Auburn’s football program.

The consistent support from the Auburn family and the program’s commitment to player development are key factors that attract talented athletes like Davidson.

These developments highlight Auburn’s ongoing efforts to build a competitive team that can grow both on and off the field.

As the recruiting season progresses, the Auburn Tigers will continue to work towards securing commitments from top prospects, building on the momentum generated by recent successes.

The future looks bright for Auburn football as they aim to create a team that embodies the values and spirit of the Auburn family, ensuring continued growth and success in the coming years.
