Breaking News: Just In Major Saints injury update puts Hardly To Breath Undergo Surgical

Major Saints Injury Update Of Trevor Penning Setback.

New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Trevor Penning faces a significant opportunity to prove his worth following a major injury update.

It was announced on Thursday that Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk will miss the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury.

The team placed Ramczyk on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, effectively ruling him out for the season.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirmed this development, which aligns with earlier reports from ESPN’s Katherine Terrell in April, who noted that Ramczyk’s injury could jeopardize his participation in training camp and the season.

The Saints selected Taliese Fuaga with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, intending for him to play left tackle, as stated by head coach Dennis Allen in May.

This decision leaves Penning, the No. 19 overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, as the primary candidate to fill Ramczyk’s role at right tackle.

Penning’s journey in the NFL has been challenging. He essentially redshirted his rookie year due to a preseason foot injury.

In 2023, he started the season at left tackle but struggled significantly.

According to Pro Football Focus, Penning allowed 10 total pressures and three sacks in the first two weeks and was subsequently benched after five games, playing only 12 offensive snaps after Week 6.

With Ramczyk sidelined, Penning now has the chance to secure the starting right tackle position.

Saints' Derek Carr excited to play behind OT Trevor Penning: 'He's a different cat'

His performance in this role will be critical for the Saints, as quarterback Derek Carr’s effectiveness is notably higher when he has a clean pocket. Penning’s ability to protect Carr and stabilize the offensive line will be pivotal for New Orleans’ chances of winning the NFC South.

The absence of a seasoned player like Ramczyk places added pressure on Penning, who must now live up to his draft status and prove himself as a reliable starter. As the Saints navigate this significant setback, all eyes will be on Penning to see if he can step up and deliver when the team needs him most.
