NFL TRADE NEWS: JUST In Current Rams Top Talented player Leaves Rams To Join….

Former Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers has signed with the Houston Texans after a Sunday workout, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Akers, who was traded from the Rams to the Minnesota Vikings last September, had been a free agent until his recent deal with the Texans, which was finalized just two days before the start of training camp.

Akers is joining a youthful Texans squad that recently clinched the AFC South division title and made it to the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. The team, led by second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud, has bolstered its offense this season with the additions of former All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, running back Joe Mixon, and now Akers.

Drafted by the Rams in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Akers played for the Rams from 2020 to 2023. During his promising rookie season, he rushed for 625 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. Although he missed most of the 2021 season due to a torn Achilles, he returned in time for the postseason, contributing to the Rams’ Super Bowl victory.

In the Rams’ Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Akers contributed 35 scrimmage yards, helping secure the franchise’s second championship. He came back strong the following season, rushing for 786 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. However, in 2023, Akers played just one game for the Rams before being traded to the Vikings. With Minnesota, he rushed for 138 yards over six games before being placed on injured reserve due to another Achilles injury.

Now, with his move to Houston, Akers aims to make a significant impact on the Texans’ offense as they seek to build on their recent successes.
