In exchange for Hield, who is agreeing to a contract guaranteed for at least two years and $21 million, Golden State is sending the Dallas Mavericks’ 2031 second-round draft pick—which the Warriors acquired by signing and trading five-time All-Star Klay Thompson to Dallas earlier this week—to Philadelphia.

Prior to the NBA trade deadline of the previous season, Philadelphia acquired Hield from the Indiana Pacers. For the 76ers in 32 regular-season games, Hield shot 42.6/38.9/92.3, scoring an average of 12.2 points.

The 31-year-old Hield was traded to the Sacramento Kings during his rookie season after being selected by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2016 NBA Draft. Hield was moved to Indiana following a five-year stay in Sacramento, where he played before being dealt to Philadelphia in February for the midseason.

After losing Thompson and dismissing veteran Chris Paul, Golden State signed guard De’Anthony Melton to a one-year contract for $12.8 million, forward Kyle Anderson to a three-year contract worth $27 million via a sign-and-trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and forward Hield.

The Warriors just finished a 46-36 campaign that resulted in an NBA Play-in Tournament defeat to the Kings.
