The transfer of Charles De Ketelaere to Atalanta was recently finalized, and a similar deal for Alexis Saelemaekers was expected with Bologna. Bologna had the option to permanently acquire Saelemaekers for approximately €12 million, and this move was considered nearly complete.

Saelemaekers performed impressively during his loan at Bologna, where he netted 4 goals and provided 3 assists in 30 league matches. At 24 years old, he played a significant role in Bologna’s historic fifth-place finish, which has secured their place in the Champions League for the upcoming season. However, with coach Thiago Motta leaving and Vincenzo Italiano stepping in, Bologna’s plans have shifted. Consequently, Saelemaekers is set to return to AC Milan, but his stay there will be short-lived. For the next season, AC Milan will rely on Pulisic and Chukwueze for the right winger position.

Although AC Milan and Saelemaekers are set to part ways this summer, it appears he will remain in Serie A. Juventus, having already moved two players to England, are now focusing on acquiring Saelemaekers. New Juventus coach Thiago Motta, who previously managed Saelemaekers, is keen on reuniting with him. Juventus has already reached out to AC Milan to discuss the possibility of bringing the Belgian winger to their squad.
