Port Vale, a League One opponent of Blackpool, is nearing a deal to sign a player who was on the team’s radar a month ago.
Although the January transfer window hasn’t yet opened and the summer transfer window has closed, clubs are still permitted to sign free agents if there are openings in their rosters.
It has already been utilised by Blackpool’s League One rival Port Vale to acquire former Tangerines striker Uche Ikpeazu. The 28-year-old committed to Vale till the conclusion of the current campaign.
The Staffordshire team is reportedly signing a player who had a trial period at Bloomfield Road as they attempt to use the free agent market once more. According to Tom Bogert of The Athletic, Vale is close to signing Adeteye Gbadehan.

Alan Nixon, a Sun writer, had said on his Patreon page that Blackpool had taken him on trial and that he had also been training with Championship team Southampton, while also expressing interest from Brentford and other Premier League clubs. The Secret Scout claims that Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur have inquired.
