The Edmonton Oilers have announced the signing of defenseman Travis Dermott to a professional tryout (PTO). Dermott, who is 27 years old, will join the Oilers after a recent stint with the Arizona Coyotes. During the previous season with Arizona, Dermott played in 50 games, notching two goals and five assists, while accumulating 26 penalty minutes.

Before his tenure with the Coyotes, Dermott spent parts of two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks between 2021 and 2023. In Vancouver, he appeared in 28 games, scoring two goals and adding one assist.

Dermott began his NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs, who drafted him in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft (34th overall). Over five seasons with Toronto, Dermott participated in 251 games, where he recorded 12 goals and 40 assists.

In total, Dermott has played in 329 NHL games across seven seasons. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 16 goals and 46 assists, bringing his point total to 62, along with 128 penalty minutes. His average ice time per game is 16:03.

Additionally, Dermott has experience in the playoffs, having competed in 22 postseason games. During these appearances, he has scored two goals and registered three assists, with an average ice time of 15:42 per game.
