The Edmonton Oilers have streamlined their Training Camp roster by cutting nine players. On Wednesday, the team released five players who were on AHL contracts and participating in professional tryouts. Additionally, they loaned four players to their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.
The players released include forwards Jasper Weatherby and Cameron Wright, goaltender Brett Brochu, and defensemen Connor Corcoran and Alex Kannok-Leipert.
Meanwhile, the players loaned to Bakersfield are forwards Matvey Petrov, Jayden Grubbe, and James Stefan, along with goaltender Connor Ungar.
This decision reflects the Oilers’ effort to finalize their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season, focusing on integrating the most promising talent into the team.
