NEW UPDATE: Boston Celtics coach has clearly stated “he depends on the $300M supper star

Celtics’ makeover depends on $300 million man Brown

BOTHELL — Jaylen Brown was not initially thought of as a pillar of the Boston Celtics’ foundation, but rather as a player who would contribute to their long-term success.

Brown was frequently a potential trade chip when famous talents were available during free agency.

His play has necessitated a rewrite of the story as he gets ready for his ninth season.

Brown’s career-defining campaign came in the previous year, when he helped the Celtics get within one game of back-to-back NBA Finals appearances and earned his second All-Star selection and second-team All-NBA nomination.

Jaylen Brown finally signs supermax with Celtics, inking richest deal in NBA history - CBS Boston

He cashed big in July when he agreed to a five-year, $304 million extension, the costliest deal in NBA history. He was instantly placed on a level that was reserved.

I feel fantastic. I feel confident. I’m prepared to have a fantastic year, Brown declared. “I worked very hard to try and make plays and find individuals who were open. attempting to set up our offense. observing and reading the game. simply become a better basketball player overall. I’m excited to display it this year.

In addition to signing Brown to a long-term contract, Boston significantly changed the makeup of its core this offseason by trading for 7-footer Kristaps Porzingis and defensive stalwart Jrue Holiday while also moving former defensive player of the year Marcus Smart, current sixth man of the year Malcolm Brogdon, and rim protector Robert Williams III.

All of this occurred when second-year coach Joe Mazzulla reorganized his coaching staff by adding assistants.

But he’ll take a direct approach to this new team dynamic.

Brown replied, “Just stepping into it. “I believe we have lost a lot of voices, including Blake Griffin, Grant Williams, and Smart. They are all loud males. Therefore, I believe that this season, you will hear JT’s and my voices a little bit more.

It is what will help a group of talented individuals become a formidable team.

“You can’t just send some guys out there and hope for the best. Our prosperity and destiny will be shaped by our behaviors, according to Brown. “I’m excited about the journey.”

Brown averaged career highs in points (26.6), rebounds (6.9), and assists (3.5) during the previous campaign. Tatum, who had 30.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists, is comparable.

With a top six that includes players who are all accustomed to seeing a certain amount of playing time, including Brown, Tatum, Porzingis, Holiday, Derrick White, and veteran Al Horford, there will still probably be an odd man out occasionally.

Tatum is adamant that it’s a good problem to have.

“In essence, we probably have six starters, but we can only use five players. “A game can only be won by five guys,” Tatum remarked. So, among those six players, anyone could be called up at any time. Someone might not complete. And it is our collective responsibility to realize that whoever’s night it is, it is for the benefit of the team. And that’s something we must firmly believe. Sacrificing is difficult, but we all must do it occasionally.
